The purpose of the Youth Group is to develop a foundation of faith on which to build one’s life through study, worship, fellowship, missions, and fun! Organized by an elected Youth Group Council – which meets three times a year for planning purposes – regular events include:
  •  Sunday School: offered for Middle School and Senior High youth on Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45am. This is a time for studying the passages and stories of the Bible and learning the basics of Christianity.
  • Sunday Night Youth Group: Youth group meets from 6-8pm, beginning in the Fellowship Hall with a “snack/light supper”.  Snack suppers are provided on a rotational basis, provided by each of our youth member’s families.  Afterwards is our devotional time where we discuss current topics which are associated with scriptural references.  Last, but certainly not least, is game time, a time to just hang out and have fun!
  • Wednesday Night Bible Study: from 6:30-7:30pm.  Two classes are offered – one for middle school youth, and one for senior high youth.  Topics vary and various media are used in each study.  This is a time for foundational learning and digging deeper into the Bible.  We then try to apply these principles to our everyday lives.
  • Confirmation Classes: held once a year, the class is an 8 week study.  It is open to all youth in the 6th – 12th grade.  The principles of Christianity, the parts of worship, and the basis of Methodism are taught in this class.  Once completed, the youth are then confirmed in the church as participatory members.

Other activities include mission trips, Youth Group Outings, retreats, and volunteer opportunities. Efforts specific to the youth include:

  •  Youth River of Life Mission Trip: Youth mission trip to Jacksonville, FL to assist with family home repairs.

Adults are also needed to participate in this group. We are always looking for teachers for Sunday School or Bible Study (done on a rotational basis), discussion leaders (needed on occasion, depending on the study), Chaperones (to assist with outings, retreats, and mission work), Meeting assistants (people to help on Sunday nights leading discussions and helping during game time), bus drivers (to help drive on long trips. CDL license is required), and mentors for Youth Advisory Council.
